Well, hello internet, and welcome to Open Tabs. I’m Imanuel Alexander Here, or Alex for short. You can find out more about what I do on my portfolio, but this blog is where the less polished stuff lives.
The name comes from my browser, which always has about forty tabs open with half read articles, docs I swear I’ll finish, and a video I opened three weeks ago. That’s basically my brain, and this blog is where I’ll finally get to some of them.
Mostly, this is notes to myself. I’m a software engineer, so I’ll write about things I’ve built, projects that caught my eye, and the occasional rant about tech news. I’ll also write about my career, the mistakes I’ve made, and what I figured out afterward. If any of it helps you too, even better.
The other half of this blog is everything I do when I close the laptop. I love anime, films, games, books, and the occasional philosophy or history rabbit hole, and my backlog is out of control. Right now the one I keep putting off is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, and I have no good excuse. I’ll be working through it here and sharing what I think, whether I loved it or not.
I’m aiming to post weekly, and I’d like to add an RSS feed down the road. Beyond that, I’m figuring it out as I go. I love telling stories, so I hope you’ll find something insightful here, or at least have a good time reading.
Enough yapping. Time to close a few tabs. See you in the next post!
